Les Feldick Bible Study

Whose flesh did the scavenger birds eat in the end-times battle?

The scavenger birds were filled with the flesh of the armies gathered in the areas of Jerusalem. These end-times armies are destroyed by the spoken Word of God, which is sharper than any two-edged sword, and the birds consume their flesh as part of that destruction.

Les explains that Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word of God as sharper than any two-edged sword. That is how He will destroy and defeat His enemies—with the spoken Word. Just as He created the universe by speaking, He speaks the Word and it is done. In the end-times battle, all the fowls, these scavenger birds, were filled with the flesh of the armies gathered in the areas of Jerusalem. After the Tribulation ends and Christ returns, the stage is set for the thousand-year reign of Christ, the Kingdom or Millennium, on the earth. Les also notes that Satan will be bound for a thousand years, confined as described in chapter 20.
