How is Zechariah 14 related to the book of Revelation?

Zechariah 14 parallels Revelation's account of the final battle before Christ's return, described as an almost carbon-copy. Both depict nations and kings gathering against Jerusalem and the Lord's forces, with Zechariah providing Old Testament background for Revelation's end-time war. In this way, the two passages align.

Les explains that Zechariah 14 is a beautiful, almost carbon copy of the book of Revelation concerning this last great battle before the return of Christ. In the Revelation passage, verse 19, John writes that he saw the beast—the man Antichrist—and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the one who sat on the horse and against his army. Les then takes us back to Zechariah 14, where the day of the Lord comes and God says, 'I will gather all nations against Jerusalem.' So Zechariah 14 serves as the Old Testament parallel to Revelation's final conflict.
