Who were the original readers of 1 Corinthians 15?
The original readers were believing Gentiles in Corinth. Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles, directed his writings foremostly to Gentiles, and though the Corinthian believers were not the most magnificent testimonies of the Christian faith, they were nevertheless believers. Thus he wrote to those Gentile believers, and his message applies to believers today.
Les teaches that Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles, and as such, all his writings are directed foremostly to Gentiles. He always writes to the believer. So when Paul wrote to the believing Gentiles at Corinth—who were not the most magnificent testimonies of the Christian faith but were nevertheless believers—he was writing to us today as well. Les stresses that we must watch as we read our Bible to whom it was written.
