Is the 'great Babylon' in Revelation one city or something else?

Great Babylon in Revelation is not a single city. The passage describes it as the whole consortium of great commercial cities—all the great commercial centers of the world, such as Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong—falling together in judgment when Babylon comes in remembrance before God.

Les explains that the 'great Babylon' of Revelation is not a single city but a collective term for the whole consortium of great commercial cities. In the final bowl judgment, verse 19 says the great city was divided into three parts and the cities of the nations fell. He identifies these as all the great commercial centers of the world—Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and others—which will collapse in a moment of time. Great Babylon then comes in remembrance before God, who gives her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. Les also notes that believers watching world events wonder how long God will be patient, but one day His patience and grace will end and His wrath will fall. Then he turns back to Revelation 18 to wind it up.
