Why will the armies be packed into the valleys at Armageddon like sardines in a can?
The armies are packed into the valleys because a sovereign God is forcing the issue, not because of military strategy. He causes the generals to crowd their troops into these valleys beyond description, bringing them into the Valley of Megiddo for the harvest pictured in Revelation 14.
Les explains that there is absolutely no military smarts connected to this. It happens because we are dealing with a sovereign God, who will cause those generals to pack their troops into these valleys beyond description. They will be in there like sardines in a can, not because it is militarily smart, but because a sovereign God is forcing the issue. He brings them into the Valley of Megiddo. Revelation chapter 14 then gives a tremendous symbolic picture: one like the Son of Man sits on a white cloud with a golden crown and a sharp sickle. Les sees this as an allusion to Christ, the one about to reap this harvest. The sickle always refers to a harvest, as it was used to harvest grain. This harvest is not beautiful but awful, beyond human comprehension.
