What did David's songs do?

David's songs resounded to God's glory, serving as words of praise and worship. His psalms, such as Psalm 22, declare God's name to brethren and praise Him in the congregation, calling the seed of Jacob and Israel to glorify and fear the Lord.

Les explains that David could also put some of his thoughts into song, and those songs always resounded to God's glory as words of praise and worship. In Psalm 22, which Les identifies as the crucifixion and resurrection chapter in Psalms, verse 22 says, "I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee." The psalm then calls those who fear the Lord to praise Him, and all the seed of Jacob and Israel to glorify and fear Him. This follows the earlier song of Moses, sung by the Israelites at the Red Sea, a song of deliverance and redemption.
