Is Revelation 12 to be interpreted symbolically?
Revelation 12 is a chapter full of symbolisms, so it should be interpreted symbolically. The woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars, represents Israel, as indicated by Joseph's dream in the Old Testament. The chapter uses symbolic imagery to convey its message.
Les teaches that Revelation chapter 12 is a whole chapter full of symbolisms. For example, the woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars, is identified as Israel. Les points back to Joseph's dream in the Old Testament to explain that the twelve stars represent Israel. He also notes that the woman being with child and crying travailing in birth connects to Isaiah's prophecy: "Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given." Thus the chapter's symbols convey spiritual truths about Israel and the birth of Christ.
