When does Christ return to the Mount of Olives and set up His Kingdom?
Christ returns to the Mount of Olives after the final three and a half years of tribulation have run their course. This follows the midpoint events, including the Antichrist’s defilement of the temple and the great earthquake. He then sets up His Kingdom, the curse is lifted, and Israel becomes the top nation.
Les explains that the midpoint of the tribulation includes the two witnesses being resurrected and ascending back into heaven, the Antichrist coming to the temple to defile it, and forcing the Jew to stop temple worship and worship him as God. This triggers the awful persecution on the Jew during the final three and a half years. A tremendous earthquake, mentioned in Revelation 6 and again in Revelation 11, sets in motion the final events of that last three and a half years. After that has run its course, Christ returns to the Mount of Olives, and then He will set up His Kingdom. The curse will be lifted, Israel will be the top nation of the nations, and the rest of the world will come under the blessings of the people of the covenant given to Abraham.
