Why did God allow Israel to be dispersed and lose the temple and their religion in 70 A.D.?
God permitted it because Israel continued rejecting the Old Testament promises of the King and Kingdom after the crucifixion and Pentecost. They rejected their Messiah and King, so God sovereignly allowed Rome under Titus to destroy the temple, Jerusalem, and disperse them, turning to Gentiles in the Age of Grace.
Les explains that after the crucifixion and Pentecost, Israel continued to reject the offers of the Old Testament promises of the King and Kingdom, as well as her role to be the evangelist to the pagan world. Spiritually she went down, and finally in 70 A.D., forty years after Pentecost or the crucifixion, God sovereignly permitted the Roman army under Titus to destroy the temple and Jerusalem and uproot the Jew from the Promised Land into the dispersion that carries on to our day. It was all because they rejected the promises, their Messiah, and their King. So God dispersed them, took away their temple and religion, and turned to the Gentile with what we call the Age of Grace. Les also reminds that God deals in specific time frames in the prophetic program, citing Daniel 9 and the 490 years determined upon thy people, with 483 consummated, then a break, and the final seven years in Daniel 9:27.
