What is the beast from the bottomless pit in Revelation 11?

The beast from the bottomless pit is not a literal animal but an authority or government. It is either the Antichrist himself or the coalition of nations called the revived Roman Empire, which makes war against the two men and kills them.

Les explains that this beast coming out of the bottomless pit is not some wild, frozen animal; it is an authority, a government. He says it will either be the Antichrist himself or the assortment of nations that come together, which he calls the revived Roman Empire. In verse 7, this government makes war against the two men, does everything it can to destroy them, overcomes them, and kills them. Their dead bodies lie in the street of the great city, spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where the Lord was crucified—Jerusalem.

Revelation 11:7

And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
