What does the third horse of Revelation correspond to in Matthew 24?

The third horse of Revelation corresponds to the latter part of Matthew 24:7, where after wars, the text says there shall be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places. Revelation 6:5 identifies that third horse as the black horse, whose rider holds a pair of balances.

Les teaches that Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 are direct parallels. He stopped in the middle of Matthew 24:7 with the red horse, then the last part of verse 7—famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places—ties to the third horse of Revelation. Turning to Revelation 6:5, the third seal brings the black horse, and its rider has a pair of balances in his hand.

Matthew 24:7

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Revelation 6:5

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
