The first event is that the Antichrist signs the seven-year treaty. As a result, Israel suddenly drops her guard, expecting safety. This treaty sets the stage for the early stages of the Tribulation, including the great invasion of Israel tied to Ezekiel 38. It is the first thing to happen in the Tribulation period.
