Why was the Old Testament prophecy of the tribulation interrupted?

The Old Testament tribulation prophecy was interrupted because the tribulation did not begin immediately after the crucifixion. In Acts none of it occurred; God set Israel aside for a period and turned to the Gentiles, making it a parenthesis. Israel's fall brought salvation to the Gentiles, though God did not abandon Israel.

Les teaches that the Old Testament prophecy of tribulation was interrupted because the tribulation did not come in after the crucifixion. When you come into Acts, none of this happens. God does not give up on Israel; Paul says plainly in Romans 11 that they have not fallen out of God's program. They have merely gone into a period when God will set them aside and turn to the Gentiles, and by their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles. Les pictures this as a parenthesis. The book of Acts covers 40 years up to A.D. 70, when Titus destroyed the temple in Jerusalem and the city, and Israel was sent into dispersion. As in Ezekiel 37, they became like corpses out in the Gentile world. After Israel is dispersed, there is a period totally out of a time frame. Old Testament prophecy concerning God and Israel is always in a time frame; 490 years are determined upon the people of Israel, 40 years here and 40 years there.
