Les Feldick Bible Study

Is the remnant of Jews saved during the Tribulation the same as the 144,000?

No. The remnant Jews saved during the Tribulation described in this passage are not the 144,000. Revelation identifies the 144,000 as young Jewish men, but this remnant is an admixture of a whole society, including retired people on housetops, not a group of 144,000 young men.

Les teaches that the remnant Jew in the Tribulation is often confused with the 144,000. He notes that many think the remnant is the 144,000, but he feels no one explains this portion of Scripture. He says this is not the 144,000 young Jewish men that Revelation describes. Instead, this remnant is an admixture of a whole society, including people who had retired and were living comfortably, with patios on rooftops. He connects this to the time when the Antichrist defiles the temple and causes the Jews to stop their Old Testament worship, and those in Judea are told to flee to the mountains.
