What gospel was committed to Paul and what gospel was committed to Peter?

The gospel of the uncircumcision—that is, the Gentile gospel—was committed to Paul, while the gospel of the circumcision—that is, the Jewish gospel—was committed to Peter. The same God worked effectually in Peter’s apostleship to the circumcision and was mighty in Paul toward the Gentiles.

Les explains that Peter confined his ministry to the Jew, and Paul came to Jerusalem to show the twelve the gospel he was now preaching to the Gentiles. By this time, twenty-two years after Pentecost, the prophetic program had begun to fall through the cracks because Israel was rejecting it. Meanwhile, God had raised up the apostle of the Gentiles; while Israel was going down, the Gentile assembly or church was coming up. Paul says the twelve thought they were still in their prophetic program, not realizing it was falling away from them. In verse seven, the gospel of the uncircumcision—the Gentile—was committed to Paul, while the gospel of the circumcision—the Jew—was to Peter. The same God who wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision was mighty in Paul toward the Gentiles. Les further notes that if one can see Peter, James, and John going to Gentiles in verse nine, then they read English differently.
