Did the twelve apostles realize the prophetic program was falling away?
No. Paul indicates the twelve thought they were still in their prophetic program, not realizing it was falling away from them. By twenty-two years after Pentecost, Israel was rejecting it, and God had raised up Paul as apostle to the Gentiles while the church was coming up.
Les teaches that by this time, twenty-two years after Pentecost, the prophetic program had begun to fall through the cracks. Israel was rejecting it left and right. In the meantime, God had raised up Paul as the apostle of the Gentiles. While Israel was going down, the Gentile assembly, or church, was coming up. So Paul says the twelve thought they were still in their prophetic program, not even realizing that it was falling away from them. Paul comes to Jerusalem to show the twelve the gospel he now preached to the Gentiles, and he refers to the twelve as those who seemed to be somewhat.
