Les Feldick Bible Study

Why can the mutually hating nations of Western Europe unite into a United States of Europe?

They can unite because every one of these nations was once together in the Roman Empire, and the movement emerging from Europe is the outline of that same old Roman Empire, just as Scripture foretold. Their mutual hatreds and problems do not prevent this historical and prophetic pattern from coming together.

Les explains that Western Europe has intense hatreds and problems, yet enormous potential for gross national product. A secular writer observed that it may seem odd for these nations who hate each other to come together and make a United States of Europe, but reminded readers that every one of them had been in an empire together once before—the Roman Empire. Les says even a secular writer can see that what is coming out of Europe now is the outline of that same old Roman Empire, exactly as Scripture said. He connects this to Revelation and Daniel: the ten horns, a bestial government, totalitarian power like Nebuchadnezzar, the Medes and Persians like a bear, the swiftness and tenacity of Alexander the Great’s leopard empire, and the residue of the ancient Roman Empire with a seeming democracy behind it, while the leader himself is absolute. The closer we come to it, the more accurate the book proves.
