What is the most dangerous thing you can do with Scripture?
Lifting verses out of context and forcing them to stand alone as a message is the most dangerous handling of Scripture. Scripture should be studied in its full context rather than isolated to make it say something by itself, because that misuse distorts the intended meaning.
Les explains that as he studies the Scriptures, he hopes he has never been guilty, and hopes he never will be guilty, of lifting verses out of context and making them say something by themselves. He calls that the most dangerous thing you can do with the Scripture. This warning comes in his discussion of Revelation, which he says is intertwined with Daniel, and he also contrasts that with the error of forcing Paul into the twelve even though Paul was called outside Israel on Gentile ground.
