Why did God's wrath come on Israel with no remedy?

God's wrath came because Israel mocked His messengers, despised His words, and misused His prophets, refusing repeated warnings. Their persistent rebellion reached the point where the Lord arose against His people and there was no remedy, so He gave them into Babylon's hand under Nebuchadnezzar.

Les explains that God repeatedly sent prophets and messengers to warn Israel, but they mocked them, despised His words, and misused His prophets until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people and there was no remedy—no hope. Les compares this to the parable of the husbandman who prepared a vineyard and sent servants to check on it; the keepers killed them. Finally he sent his son, and they killed him. The parable pictured God dealing with Israel: He sent prophets, and they killed them; finally He sent His Son, and they killed Him. Therefore God brought the king of the Chaldeans, or Babylonians, Nebuchadnezzar, who slew their young men with the sword and showed no compassion on young or old, giving them all into Babylon's hand.

2 Chronicles 36:16

But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
