How did the Samaritans corrupt their bloodline and worship?

The Samaritans corrupted their bloodline by intermarrying and becoming half-breeds, and they corrupted their worship by setting up a false temple at Samaria. This caused the Jews of Jesus’ day to hate them and avoid Samaria, though they were still more Jew than Gentile.

Les explains that some of the ten tribes came back and set up worship at Samaria. They intermarried and adulterated their bloodline, and they also adulterated their worship by setting up a false temple. Consequently, they became the hated Samaritans of Jesus’ day because they were half-breeds, and the Jews would not even go through Samaria. Yet Les maintains they were still more Jew than Gentile, so when Jesus spoke to the woman of Samaria at the well, He was speaking to a Jewess, not a Gentile. Peter’s reference to 'all the house of Israel' in Acts 2:36 means all the tribes, so the ten tribes are not lost.
