What should come first: doctrinal grounding by faith or experience?

Doctrinal grounding by faith must come first, and then experience follows. Experience does not exercise faith; rather, believers are to get doctrinally grounded by their faith and then work toward experience, not the other way around. This order is essential.

Les teaches that faith must come first. He points out that the shield of faith is taken above all, and that today there is a lack of faith and an emphasis on experience. He states plainly that experience does not exercise faith. Instead, the believer has to get doctrinally grounded by faith and then work toward experience, not the other way around. This aligns with his broader point that the Roman soldier's armor was only for one direction—forward, never retreat.
