The Euphrates River flows east, originating in Turkey, travels through Iraq, and empties into the Persian Gulf. This course is described as coming out of Turkey, going all the way around through Iraq, and down into the Persian Gulf. It is the great river mentioned in the land deed.

Les explains that since Desert Storm, everyone is aware where the Euphrates River flows—clear out to the east, coming out of Turkey, all the way around through Iraq, and down into the Persian Gulf. He connects this to Genesis 15:18, where God made a covenant with Abram, giving his seed the land from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates.
