Les Feldick Bible Study

What do the American people need to be reminded of about God and Deuteronomy?

The American people need to be reminded that the God who made their nation what it is is the same God who laid down the requirements in Deuteronomy. Human societies, economies, and outlooks change, but God does not change; He still hates the same things He hated in Israel’s history.

Les explains that a secular newspaper editorial was decrying Christianity and its influence, calling it an enemy of the nation because times are different from Bible times. Les responds that people change, economies change, and society changes, but there is one who never changes: God does not change. God hates the same things today that He hated in Israel’s history. Les says we do not try to shove this down people’s throats, but the American people have to be made aware once again that the God who made our nation what she is is the same God who laid down these requirements back in Deuteronomy. He has not changed, even though society and outlooks have. Les then moves from Deuteronomy chapter 7 to chapter 20, where God explains to the Jews how they are to operate in warfare, and down to verse 17, which is something beyond ordinary warfare of occupation.
