Les Feldick Bible Study

What is an ambassador?

An ambassador is a representative of a government who serves not in his own homeland but in a strange land. In the biblical context, believers are left here as ambassadors, entrusted with the ministry and word of reconciliation, representing God's interests while living in a foreign world.

Les explains that an ambassador is a representative of a government, not in his own homeland, but in a strange land. He connects this to why God has left believers here: to be ambassadors. Paul says God has given us the ministry of reconciliation and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. When opportunity comes, we tell a person wrapped in Satan's web that God has done everything needed to set them free and reconcile them to Himself. Les also references The Ugly American, a best-selling book exposing foreign service people whose lifestyle gave foreigners the wrong picture of America.
