Who does the preparation work in the Exodus account?

In the Exodus account, the preparation work is done by the I am, identified as God the Son, Jehovah. He is the one who will be the pillar of fire and pillar of smoke, and the tabernacle in every detail pictures His finished work.

Les explains that Moses now has it clearly put that the I am, God the Son, Jehovah, is the one doing all of the preparation work. He will be the pillar of fire and the pillar of smoke. Les further notes that when we get to the tabernacle, the word propitiation back in Romans chapter 3 is lived out in all its fullness in every jot and tittle of the tabernacle back in Exodus. Everything in that tabernacle is a picture of Christ. The Ark of the Covenant, for example, was a box made of wood, speaking of Christ's earthly side, but covered with gold, speaking of His deity. All the way through the tabernacle—the fence, the blocks, the hides, the sacrifices, the priesthood, the Day of Atonement—everything speaks of the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Exodus 3:15

And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
