Did Moses see God bodily at the burning bush like Abraham did?
No. According to the Exodus account, at the burning bush the angel of the Lord appeared in a flame of fire. Moses did not see Him bodily as Abraham did in Genesis 18. Even so, the voice speaking from the bush was Jehovah, God the Son.
Les explains that the angel of the Lord who appeared to Moses is Jehovah, God the Son—the second person of the Trinity. The context identifies the same redeeming angel Jacob called the Redeemer, and there is only one Redeemer, Christ. Les suggests Moses did not see Him bodily as Abraham did in Genesis 18, but the voice from the bush was still Jehovah's. He also notes the bush burned but was not consumed, which someone once suggested pictures Israel: constantly in the fires of judgment, with everyone trying to obliterate them, yet after thousands of years Israel remains on the scene.
