Why does Les Feldick need financial help from his viewing audience?
Financial support is needed because the teaching ministry has no underwriter or organizational backing, and production and distribution costs must be covered. Tapes are sold only for cost, postage is paid personally, and the ministry generates no profit, so viewer contributions sustain the outreach while the teacher earns a living as a full-time rancher.
Les explains that he does not make it plain enough that financial help from the viewing audience is needed. He notes that these things take money, he has nobody underwriting, and he is not with any particular organization. They simply teach the Word and trust folk can take it into Sunday school classes or whatever. Concerning VCR tapes, someone might think people believe he makes so much money on the tapes that they take care of the program, but the tapes are sold for their costs, and when mailed across the country, they even stand the postage out of their own pockets. He says they are not making a dime out of the ministry one way or the other, as long as the Lord holds the price of cattle up where they can make a living. He is a full-time rancher, and that is the only thing they do.
