What will happen at the beginning of the tribulation?

At the opening days of the tribulation, the world will face terrible famine and terrible inflation after great agricultural areas are knocked out, leaving billions hungry and unable to afford what little remains. Israel will enjoy the blessings of temple worship but endure a tremendous invasion and tremendous loss of life.

Les explains that if the great agricultural areas of Russia and the Middle West are knocked out, the world has very little food production left. The remaining billions in the Orient, Europe, and Africa will be awfully hungry, and the world will come under terrible famine and terrible inflation. When there is a shortage, runaway prices follow, and nobody can afford even what little there is. This is the picture for the opening days of the tribulation. At the same time, Israel will enjoy the blessings of her temple worship but must put up with a tremendous invasion and tremendous loss of life. Les also addresses the argument that Ezekiel says the Jews will spend seven years burying the dead and cleaning up the destroyed equipment by noting that in Scripture any part of a year is considered a full year.
