Why will Israel not enjoy the same elevated role in the kingdom and eternity as the body of Christ?

Israel will not enjoy the same elevated role in the kingdom and eternity as the body of Christ because of spiritual adultery: they embraced worship of a female goddess and believed that worship blessed them more than Jehovah would. This unfaithfulness caused Israel’s lesser position, not the elevated role belonging to the body of Christ.

Les explains that Israel’s worship of a female goddess was spiritual adultery, because they thought that worship blessed them more than Jehovah would. That is why Israel is not going to enjoy the elevated role in the kingdom and eternity that belongs to the body of Christ. In Daniel 12:13, Daniel is told to rest and stand in his lot; in Hebrew this is also a military term of organization, comparable to “company” in 1 Corinthians 15. The Old Testament saints will be resurrected in their own lot and represented by the gleanings and corners left behind. They are smaller in number than church-age believers and come in after the kingdom has been set up. Using the ancient wedding-feast analogy, which could last for weeks, this wedding feast comes into the kingdom, and Israel will be guests at that wedding feast.
