Why can't a pastor teach like Les Feldick in a weekly church service?
A pastor cannot teach in that expansive, homestyle manner during a weekly service because most congregations allow only about 20 minutes, and that brief once-a-week slot—even with a Wednesday study—does not provide enough time. This limitation is not the pastor's fault.
Les explains that the church just does not have time. He says he does not blame pastors because most congregations will not give them more than 20 minutes, and a pastor does not stand a chance to teach like this in 20 minutes once a week, even if there is a Wednesday night Bible study. Therefore, more time must be spent in the home in Bible study. He appreciates those using the videotapes and books in home Bible studies, not to take away from the church, but to enhance and edify it.
