Why does Genesis 1:26 use the plural pronoun 'us' and 'our' for God?

The plural pronoun in Genesis 1:26 reveals that God is a Trinity—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—a plurality of distinct personalities. The Triune God speaks, saying, "Let us make man in our image."

Les teaches that Genesis 1:26 occurs on the sixth day of creation, and the plural pronouns 'us' and 'our' are used because God is a Trinity. He explains that when Genesis 1 began, he emphasized that God is a Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. That is a plurality of personalities, yet each is a distinct personality within themselves. The Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—is the one speaking, saying, "Let us make man in our image." Les also points out that the God of Genesis 1:1 was Elohim, which likewise referred to the Triune God, the Trinity.

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
