What did Peter say about Christ in Acts 2:23?

Peter declared that Christ was delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, yet was taken by wicked hands and crucified and slain. The verse presents the cross as occurring according to God's predetermined plan, while holding those who carried it out responsible.

Les explains that in Acts 2:23 Peter is preaching to the Jews on the day of Pentecost. Peter says Christ was delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, yet was taken by wicked hands and crucified and slain. Les teaches this points back to eternity past, before anything was called into being, when there was still nothing. At that time the triune God held a counsel; they counseled with one another. Though the members of the Godhead did not need to deliberate, the Trinity came together and in a counseled agreement set everything in motion, agreeing to create the universe and to put one little planet in it like a speck.
