What will God gather together in Christ according to Ephesians?
According to Ephesians, God will gather together in one in Christ all things in Christ, both everything in heaven and everything on earth. Everything will be brought together again in Him. This is the divine purpose that Scripture reveals for Christ.
Les explains that this gathering is into Christ, the One in whom all things are brought together. The text divides it into everything in heaven and everything on earth, all brought together again in Him. Les also traces the timeline: from Adam to Abraham about 2,000 years, then Abraham and Israel, and from Genesis 12 well into Acts God primarily dealt with Jew only, though not exclusively. He notes exceptions such as Jonah sent to Nineveh and Rahab met by the spies at Jericho.
