What role will Jerusalem play in the earthly kingdom?
Jerusalem will serve as the capital of the earthly kingdom and the center of the whole world's activity. The Lord's house and kingdom will be established above all other kingdoms, exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow into it because it is the hub of the planet.
Les explains that Isaiah 2:2 describes the last days—that final thousand years, the final dispensation spoken of in the tenth verse of Ephesians. In Old Testament symbolism, a mountain represents a kingdom, so the Lord's house/kingdom will be established in the top of the mountains and exalted above the hills. Under His rule other smaller kingdoms will be established among the Gentile nations, yet all nations shall flow into it because it becomes the hub of the planet. Jerusalem, the capital of this earthly kingdom, will therefore be the center of the whole world's activity. These earthly promises are not mixed with the heavenly promises of the Church; they maintain separate entities, but both come under the headship of Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
