Why did Rome preserve Greek culture instead of destroying it?

Rome deliberately preserved much of Greek culture rather than destroying it, recognizing that integrating it into their own empire was profitable. They were careful not to destroy it because they saw its value for their empire. This decision allowed Greek influence to remain part of the Roman world.

Les explains that among the previous empires, Greek culture was especially evident. He notes that Rome was very careful not to destroy much of the Greek culture, because they saw it was profitable to integrate it into their own empire. Rather than wiping it out, Rome absorbed Greek culture for its own benefit. This fits the pattern where remains of earlier empires continued within the revived Roman Empire.
