Why is prison usually the best place on earth to be a Bible student?
Prison is often described as the best place on earth to be a Bible student because inmates have time on their hands and, evidently, the freedom to study. Letters from prison inmates show they put many theologians to shame, since they really have time to study.
Les explains that while one might not expect Bible study opportunities in prison, the man he spoke with said that usually—not always—it is the best place on earth to be a Bible student. The reason is that prisoners have time on their hands, and evidently they have that kind of freedom. Les notes that letters from prison inmates suggest they would put a lot of theologians to shame because they really have time to study. He also reminds listeners to be mindful of these fellows and offers material free of charge to prison viewers if it will be used.
