What does God hold most strongly against mankind?
God holds unbelief most strongly against mankind. Unbelief is the opposite of faith, and nothing pleases the heart of God more than the faith of a human being. The issue God weighs most seriously is therefore whether people believe Him and His Word, since faith appropriates His grace.
Les explains that God has freely given believers wisdom, prudence, and abundant life, and these are appropriated by faith rather than by feeling or human effort. He notes that Christendom often lacks this wisdom, floundering in ignorance of the Scriptures even if saved. The key contrast is unbelief versus faith: unbelief is what God will hold in the strongest light against mankind, while faith is what pleases God and brings blessing.
