Where is the only place Paul mentions the Tribulation?
The only place Paul mentions the Tribulation is II Thessalonians chapter 2. There he makes plain that after the Church has departed, the man of sin will appear, followed by the Tribulation. Otherwise, the Tribulation has nothing to do with Paul’s teachings, because it comes from Old Testament prophecy and is God dealing with Israel.
Les teaches that the only time Paul even mentions the Tribulation is in II Thessalonians chapter 2. He explains that Paul makes it plain that after we have departed, then shall appear that man of sin, and the Tribulation, and all the rest of it. Otherwise, the Tribulation has nothing to do with Paul’s teachings. Les emphasizes that the Tribulation comes out of all the prophetic statements of the Old Testament, and it is God dealing with Israel, not the Church. The Church won’t fit in that Tribulation scenario—it’s like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. The Rapture is strictly a Pauline revelation, and all the rest of Scripture speaks about the Second Coming.
