Do Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians quote or use the Old Testament?

No. Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians do not quote or draw from the Old Testament. After Acts 28, these prison epistles contain no mention of the Jew or the Old Testament, not even one word from it. They present higher-level doctrine, reproof, and correction with no Old Testament quotation at all.

Les teaches that after Acts 28, when Paul is in prison, he writes Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians as prison epistles. These letters follow the same format but at a higher level: Ephesians is a higher level of doctrine, Philippians a higher level of reproof, and Colossians a higher level of correction. Les explains that once Paul jumps up into higher or deeper spiritual truths, there is no longer any mention, not once, of a Jew or the Old Testament. From the statement of Acts 28 onward, when the turn is to the Gentile, there is not another word in Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians out of the Old Testament.
