What happens in a family when everyone practices patience, gentleness, and goodness?
When all family members practice patience, gentleness, and goodness toward one another, it produces a happy family environment and a beautiful family relationship. These three aspects of the fruit of the Spirit create a perfect family harmony, because each member shows these qualities in dealing with the others.
Les explains that the first three fruit of the Spirit—long-suffering or patience, gentleness, and goodness—lead to a pretty good, happy family environment. If all family members can exude these three particles of the fruit of the Spirit, exercising patience, gentleness, and goodness with one another, that is perfect. He says it would be a beautiful family relationship we could enjoy if all members of the family would just practice those three fruits of the Spirit. He then moves to the last three fruits, which are tied to our association with God Himself, beginning with faith, and points to Hebrews 11:6 and 1 Corinthians 13, where faith, hope, and love abide.
