What does Matthew 24:37 say about the coming of the Son of Man and the days of Noah?

Matthew 24:37 declares that as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. Before the flood, people were eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, occupied with daily activities until Noah entered the ark, unaware until the flood came.

Les explains that in Matthew 24:37 Jesus is speaking, and as God and Creator He knew the end from the beginning and stated it explicitly. The verse says, "But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be." Before the flood, people were eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage. Les points out there is nothing wrong with food, drink, marriage, or weddings; those things were not the problem. Rather, they were so occupied with human, mundane events that they continued until the day Noah entered the ark. Verse 39 says they knew not until the flood came and took them all away. Luke 21, Les thinks, even adds that they builded. Thus the coming of the Son of Man will find people similarly absorbed in daily materialistic activity, unaware of judgment.
