Les Feldick Bible Study

What does a reprobate mind cause people to do?

A reprobate mind causes people to do things that are not convenient, normal, or natural, and they become filled with all unrighteousness. Because they did not want to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to such a mind, leading them to live for the here and now rather than eternity.

Les teaches that in Romans 1:28, when people did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind. He explains that this means if that's the way you want to live, then have at it. The reprobate mind then causes them to do things which are not convenient, not normal, not natural. Verse 29 says they are filled with all unrighteousness, which is the opposite of righteousness. This fits with Galatians 5, where such people will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Les also notes they have no concept of the things of God or eternity, just living for the here and now.
