What kind of activity creates wealth, according to the medical intern?
The medical intern said the only place to make a lot of money is in anything that degrades society. Such degrading activities will create wealth for those people. He called it simply one of the facts of life. This was his observation.
Les explains that when he was visiting a group of young medical interns, one of them remarked that there is really only one place to make a lot of money. When asked what that was, the intern answered, "Anything that will degrade society." Les says he never forgot that statement and points out that anything which degrades society will create wealth for those people; it is just one of the facts of life. He then connects this to Paul's teaching, noting that people thrive on wicked activities such as envying, murders, drunkenness, and revelings. Reveling implies a good time, but Les warns it invariably leads to misery, broken homes, broken health, and ultimately destruction, because it is the lifestyle of the old Adam, the playground of Satan.
