What is the old sin nature's disposition toward God?
The old sin nature is enmity against God—hostile, opposed, and described as an enemy of God. It operates in the flesh and has no means of communication or fellowship with God, so its disposition is constant conflict with Him and His instruction.
Les explains that ever since Adam became possessed of the original sin nature, the place of fellowship with God was completely put out of commission and made dormant. That old personality, the sin nature, is enmity against God. The lost person therefore has no means of communication with God, and even a foxhole cry is heard only if it is a call for salvation. Romans 8 makes it plain that the unsaved person is an enemy of God, and as Les notes, you do not deal with your enemy.
