What were the Judaizers teaching the Gentiles in Antioch that Paul had to oppose?

They taught Gentile believers at Antioch that unless they were circumcised according to the manner of Moses they could not be saved, and that it was necessary to circumcise Gentile converts and command them to keep the law of Moses.

Les explains that certain men came down from Judea to Antioch, where Paul and Barnabas had been ministering primarily among Gentiles. These men, emissaries of the Twelve from Jerusalem, taught the believing Gentiles, “Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.” That is what Paul was up against. Later, at the council in Jerusalem, certain Pharisees who believed said it was needful to circumcise the Gentile converts and to command them to keep the law of Moses. Les notes that the people up in Galatia were falling for that, and this is what Paul had to constantly remind them about.

Acts 15:1
