What does Colossians 1:12 say the Father has prepared believers for?

Colossians 1:12 says the Father has made believers meet, or prepared them, to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. The following verse adds that He delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.

Les teaches from Colossians chapter 1, verses 12 and 13, that Paul writes giving thanks unto the Father, who hath made us meet, or has prepared us, to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. The same passage says the Father has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Les then asks where the kingdom of the Son is and answers that it is in heaven. So believers now have a heavenly base of operations: the head of the body is in heaven, and we are citizens. This fits the earlier contrast with the earthly Jerusalem and the spiritual setting in the heavenlies, which is free. Les then directs attention to Philippians chapter 3.
