What happens to people who never realize they are lost?
They remain without hope and are not saved, because God cannot save them until they realize their lost condition. They may think they are good, but Scripture concludes all under sin. One day they will wake up and it will be too late.
Les explains that lost people are like a little lamb in a crevice that has no hope unless the shepherd comes and finds him. They have to understand that they are hopelessly lost, and then God can save them, and not until. It does no good to believe the Gospel until you realize that you are lost. This is especially hard for good people who say, “Well, I’m not that bad, I’m pretty good.” But until they realize how lost they are spiritually, until they realize what the Scripture concludes, God can’t save them. They are just without hope, and one day they are going to wake up and it is going to be too late. God has forgiven every sin and done everything that needs to be done, but the promise by faith of Jesus Christ is given to those who believe.
