Les Feldick Bible Study

Why is it getting easier for people to rob the system today?

It is getting easier because people are becoming sharper and using high-tech tools like computers, and even counterfeiters are thriving. This reflects a universal human tendency to beat the system; when many get away with it, legislatures pass more laws, perpetuating the cycle.

Les teaches that the farm programs illustrate a broader pattern: farmers would sit in a coffee shop and on a napkin figure out how to get around new farm plans and beat the government almost every time. But it isn't just farmers—everybody is always out to beat the system. As soon as enough people get away with it, the legislature has to pass another law, and it keeps feeding on itself. Now with high technology, Les notes it's getting easier and easier for people to rob the system through computers because they're getting sharp, and even counterfeiters will have a heyday if no one stops them. This has always been the case, showing the human race's bent toward wickedness.
