What do Gentiles receive through the promise?
Through the promise, Gentiles receive the Holy Spirit. This promise is the Holy Spirit, given in the Age of Grace. As a result of salvation, God gives believers something far better than the Ten Commandments: the Holy Spirit becomes their guideline, not the Law.
Les explains that Gentiles receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. God's purposes come to fruition in the Age of Grace. Believers do not have to keep the Law; through salvation God gives them the Holy Spirit, which is far better than the Ten Commandments. The Holy Spirit becomes their guideline, not the Ten Commandments. This does not mean it is acceptable to kill, steal, or commit adultery, because the Holy Spirit shows believers those things. Grace Age believers are delivered from the Law, and Les points to Romans chapter 7 where this is beautifully stated.
