Do Gentiles still have to wait for Israel to bring them the knowledge of God?

No. The blessing of Abraham comes to Gentiles directly through the Lord Jesus Christ, immediately, without Israel as a go-between. When Israel rejected the Messiah, she fell out of the picture as a kingdom of priests. Gentiles do not need to wait for Israel to get her act together or for a Jew to bring them the knowledge of God.

Les explains that Galatians 3:14 is often misread as saying the blessing of Abraham comes to Gentiles through the nation of Israel. He says, 'Don't say that!' Israel fell out of the picture when she fell—when she rejected the Messiah, she also rejected that glorious opportunity of being a Kingdom of Priests to the Gentile world. In Exodus 19, as Israel gathered around Sinai, God told them that if they would be obedient, He would make of them a Kingdom of Priests. Every Jew could have been a go-between between the Gentile world and their God, but they blew it and dropped the ball. However, that did not stop God. Paul can now write that the Gentiles have received the blessing of Abraham, not through Israel, but directly through the Lord Jesus Christ, immediately. Therefore, Gentiles do not have to wait for Israel to get her act together. They do not have to wait for a Jew to come to their particular community and give them the knowledge of their God. God did something totally different: He went straight to the pagan world with the message of salvation without Israel as a go-between.
